NEW YORK: The US will have enough Covid-19 vaccines for each American adult by the end of May, President Joe Biden said after Merck & Co agreed to make rival Johnson & Johnson's inoculation.
The partnership between drug makers, furthermore as other steps the govt is taking to help J and J, will allow the corporate to accelerate delivery of 100 million vaccine doses by around a month, Biden said he hoped that the United State would be "back to normal" at this time next year, potentially earlier, according to the US department of health and human services. "It depends upon if people continue, continue to be smart and understand that we still can have significant losses," he said.
But Biden said the vaccination campaign should also be stepped up and others should agree on the need. This will be two months earlier than expected.
According to Mr Biden's new timeline, it does not mean all adults in the US will be vaccinated by the end of May.
And he warned people to "stay vigilant" because "this fight is far from over", with new variants a serious concern.Dr. Dhillon Randeep
