Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders announced his withdrawal from the Democratic presidential race on Wednesday, which means former Vice President Joe Biden is now the presumptive nominee. As the news about his withdrawal came out, Joe Biden congratulated him on a stellar campaign in this primary election. Biden said - “Although Sanders campaign has been suspended, it will have an impact on this elections and further elections. My team and I will address the issues Bernie fought for like the crisis of climate change. We will confront and make sure there is income equality and affordable healthcare accessible to every American. We will also work to ease the student debt burden, and above all, let’s defeat Donald Trump.”
Biden further added, “We are in the middle of an unprecedented crisis in American history. The primary job is to get past the pandemic, which is threatening public health. We will have to address the issue of unemployment, economic measures, and rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure.” Seeking the support of Bernie and his supports, “as friends, Jill and I want to say to Bernie and Jane, we know how difficult this is. Your campaign has put the interest of the nation and the need to defeat Donald Trump, Jill, and I am grateful for that. We also want you to know that I’ll be reaching out to you. I will hear from you. Additionally, I have a special message to your supports; I make the same commitment. I see you, I hear you, and I also understand the urgency of defeating Donald Trump. I hope you will join us. You are more than welcome, and you all are needed. Together let’s beat Trump, and once we do it, we will not only rebuild this beautiful country, but we will also transform it,” said Biden in his official statement.
I know Bernie well. He’s a good man, a great leader, and one of the most powerful voices for change in our country. And it’s hard to sum up his contributions to our politics in one, single tweet. So I won’t try to. https://t.co/Z6OkCDWFNm— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) April 8, 2020
Joe Biden also requested the supporters to support and join him in his fight against President Trump. To support Biden, all you have to do is provide minimal details and stand in solidarity with the former Vice President to make the new President of the United States.
