In the long history of the United States, it is astonishing that there has never been a female President or a Vice President to date. Hillary Clinton tried her luck in the 2016 elections running against Trump but eventually lost the elections. During the primary nominations phase, many female politicians, including elected senators, announce their campaign for the president. However, most of them suspend their campaigns because of various reasons at a later stage. Even in 2020 Democratic nominations, several female politicians like Tulsi Gabbard, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Williamson, and Klobuchar decided to run for the presidency. However, all of them have dropped the plan currently. This brings us to the question of whether the US can ever have a female running the country?
Former Vice President Joe Biden has a solution for the above question. Biden announced publicly that he is committed to select a woman as his running mate once he finishes atop of the Democratic race for the presidency. Biden is the first and the only major candidate to announce his decision months early before the party’s final nominee is decided. The only other major candidate fighting it out against Biden is Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, in a soft unwilling tone said: “in all likelihood,” he would also try and name a woman. The decision from Biden signals that his ideas are already way advanced in the current political scenario of the US elections.
