Since the Super Tuesday primaries at the end of February, former Vice President Joe Biden is at his very best winning everything that comes his way. With his long-time friend Bernie Sanders dropping out of the race, Biden is now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. He will soon be announced as the official Democratic candidate to fight against President Donald Trump in the general elections this November. Starting from March, Biden had an upward trending graph in every month of his campaign. He outperformed President Trump in every poll conducted by various universities, media agencies, and the pollsters. In the latest Fox News survey, Biden is leading by a wide margin against Trump in Rust Belt states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, which played a crucial role in Trump’s win in the 2016 elections.
The Fox News poll, which was released on Thursday evening, shows that 57 percent of the registered voters in Pennsylvania said they would vote for Biden, while only 39 percent of them supported Trump. This is an increase of seven percentage points for Biden and a drop of 3 percentage points for Trump compared to the results of the same poll released in April. It’s interesting to note that the presumptive Democratic nominee consistently held his lead of over 50 percent against Trump despite being confined to his house in Delaware due to coronavirus pandemic. On the other hand, Michigan also showed similar results; 49 percent of the voters supported Biden compared to 40 percent for Donald Trump. There is a slight change of one percentage point for Trump, which decreased from 41 to 40 to April’s poll results.
President Donald Trump won Pennsylvania with 48.8 % of the vote share to that of Hillary’s 47.6. Trump won narrowly in Michigan with 47.6% voter share compared to Hillary’s 47.3 percent. By the above statistics, it’s explicit about the impact of these two states on the Presidential elections. The Fox News poll was held between Saturday and Monday via phone with a sample of 793 Pennsylvania voters and 756 Michigan voters. They have an error margin of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.Dr. Dhillon Randeep
