Former Vice President Joe Biden maintains his lead against President Trump firmly without any impact even after he was announced as the Democratic presidential nominee at the party’s convention last Thursday and also with the start of the Republican convention on Monday. As per the latest Politico/Morning Consult, Biden’s ratings remained unchanged and are evenly distributed among the voters. Additionally, Biden holds a significant lead over Trump according to other horse-race polling, which is roughly at the same stage where he stood before going into the conventions. A minimal amount of polls was conducted as both Democratic and Republican conventions took place in the same week with just a few days apart.
The new poll shows that 48 percent of the voters support Biden, and 46% view him as unfavorable. Biden had a two-point increase in this aspect compared to the previous Politico/Morning Consult poll, which took place before conventions. On the other hand, more than half percent of the voters view President Trump as an unfavorable candidate to lead the country. Trump scores 42% favorable image ratings and 56% unfavorable ratings. As per the latest Morning Consult tracking poll, Biden is ahead of Trump by 10 points, 52% compared to Trump’s 42%. Once again, a two-point lead for Biden from 8 points on the eve of the Democratic party convention. Similarly, Biden has a 10-point lead in the CBS News/YouGov panel-back survey in which the voters were surveyed before the convention and after the convention, which stands unchanged.
A total of 1992 registered voters took part in the Politico/Morning Consult poll, which has an error margin of plus or minus two percentage points.
