After the fight in the polls, President Trump and his opponent Joe Biden have started fighting it out in a war of words. On Tuesday, Biden called Trump an absolute fool for mocking people who wear face masks as a precautionary measure from coronavirus. The scuffle began Monday evening when President Trump retweeted an image of Biden ridiculing him for wearing a face mask in his visit to a Delaware memorial for US military personnel. This was Biden’s first public appearance in months due to the lockdown measures of coronavirus pandemic. Fox News political analyst posted an image of Biden and wrote - “This might help explain why Trump doesn’t like to wear a mask in public. Biden today.” In the picture, Biden covered almost half of his with a black mask along with his traditional aviator sunglasses.
Face masks were made mandatory when in public by health experts and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to slow down the spread of the virus, but President Trump isn’t budged at all. Although Trump didn’t add any comments to mock Biden, he publicly claimed that he wouldn’t like to wear the face mask. A few weeks ago, two of the White House support staff were tested positive for the coronavirus, making it mandatory to wear masks for almost everyone in the West Wing - of course, Trump was an exception just because he isn’t interested. Trump eschewed masks in his multiple outings and instead claimed that he is taking a drug to prevent the virus, but the drug is unproven to treat the virus. The only occasion Trump donned a face mask was during his visit to Ford plant in Michigan, where he wore it in private, and he told the press traveling with him that he is not interested in giving them the satisfaction of watching him wear it.
With all these incidents, Biden accused Trump of being a bad example of a leader and calling him of stoking deaths. Speaking to CNN’s Dana Bash in his first face to face interview after the coronavirus lockdown, Biden said - “Trump is a fool. He must be an absolute fool to talk that way. I mean every leading doctor in the world is suggesting to wear a face mask when in public places and especially in places where you get closer to somebody. Presidents across the world are meant to lead but not to engage in foolishness and false masculine.”Dr. Dhillon Randeep
