With Michigan state’s Democratic presidential primary scheduled in less than a week, the state’s governor Gretchen Whitmer is backing former Vice President Joe Biden in his bid to lead the White House race. A member of the Democratic party, Whitmer elected in 2018 as the governor of Michigan. She has quite an influence on American electoral politics since the beginning of the 2016 presidential race.
Speaking to MSNBC, Whitmer said - “I’ve been watching this campaign play out, and there are sources of inspiration in a variety of candidates. But as we head into Michigan’s election on Tuesday, I’m going to vote for former Vice President Joe Biden.” When asked about how Michigan’s state primary is significant, Whitmer said - “I think we all know Michigan is incredibly important. All roads to the White House lead through my state, and I want to make sure that we have got a strong ability to help impact the future of our nation.”
