Former Vice President is on a roll after winning the crucial South Carolina primary with a thumping vote share of 48%. In just 24 hours, Biden earned endorsements from three critical people of the Democratic party. South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Senator of Minnesota Amy Klobuchar and former Texas Rep. Beto O’Roruke, announced their endorsements to Biden on the same night just before the Super Tuesday.
The support received is crucial on the eve of Super Tuesday contests, where voters from 14 states and one US territory will vote and decide approximately one-third of all the pledged delegates. More importantly, both Minnesota, Klobuchar’s, and Texas, O’Rourke’s home states, will vote on Tuesday. As they are now endorsing Biden, both the Democrats asked their supporters also to get behind Joe Biden. It was Buttigieg, who endorsed first, praising Biden as the perfect candidate to take on President Trump. He said - “I’m encouraging everyone who was a part of my campaign to join me as we have found that leader in Vice President, soon-to-be-president, Joe Biden.” Buttigieg decided to quit the candidacy after coming distant fourth in South Carolina and told his supporters that he did not see a path forward for his nomination and asked all the Democrats to unite and defeat Trump.
Klobuchar’s and O’Rourke’s endorsements came later in the night at a rally near downtown Dallas. Speaking at the rally, Klobuchar said - “We need to unite our party and country. I believe we can do this together, and that is why today I am ending my campaign and endorsing Joe Biden.” Another candidate, O’Rourke Said - “ We need someone who can beat Donald Trump, and in Joe Biden, we have that man. I’ll vote for Biden this Tuesday.” Biden, who is delighted with all the endorsements, expressed his joy by saying - “This a team!”
