House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been a well-known critic of President Donald Trump for a long time. She leaves no opportunity when it comes to criticizing Trump for his inability to do his job. On Thursday, Pelosi suggested that there shouldn't be any presidential debates between Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and President Donald Trump. She stated that the president would devalue the debate with his poor behavior, just like the 2016 debate against Hillary Clinton. Speaking to the reporters, Pelosi said - "I don't think there should be any debates, there is absolutely no need for it. With the past experiences, I don't think that the president of the United States has comported himself in a way that is associated with truth, evidence, facts, and data against any other politician of this country."
She further added, "I wouldn't legitimize a conversation with him nor a debate in terms of the United States' presidency." Pelosi spoke about the issue as Trump and Biden are gearing up for their three presidential debates before Election Day in November. The first one of the debates is scheduled for September 29th at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Although Pelosi acknowledged Biden's excitement in debating with President Trump, she didn't share her view on the debate. However, Pelosi informed reporters about her unwillingness to debate Trump based on his past debate experiences. Pelosi called out Trump's 2016 debates with Hillary Clinton as "disgraceful." After the debates, Hillary Clinton also admitted that Trump's lurking behavior made her "skin crawl."
Former vice president Joe Biden also has a similar impression on Trump, just like Nancy Pelosi. In his interview with MSNBC's Andrew Mitchell, Biden confirmed that he plans to face Trump as long as the debates remain on the docket. Not long into the interview, Biden agreed that the president would probably use the debate stage to drive his misinformation campaign to influence the voters, similar to the instances he displayed at the Republican National Convention last week. "I'll act as a fact-checker on the floor while I'm debating him. I think every American knows how this man has a pathological tendency not to tell the truth. I've quite an experience in dealing with bullies," said Biden.
