Former Vice President is on a spree getting new endorsements for his nomination from the Democratic party to fight against President Trump in the 2020 elections. The latest to the list is Senator Tim Kaine, the 2016 Democratic Vice Presidential candidate who ran along with Hillary Clinton. Tim is presently serving as the junior United States Senator from Virginia since 2013. He previously served as 38th Lieutenant Governor of Virginia for four years from 2002 to 2006.
In a statement, Virginia senator Tim Kaine said - “Barack Obama was very wise in choosing Joe Biden as his partner in the White House. Biden has exemplary heart, character, and vast experience. Biden reminds me of Harry S. Truman, an ordinary man with great work ethics and faith in the goodness of everyday Americans. His love for the country made him a great President, and I’m proud to vote for Joe Biden.” Tim’s support to Biden comes just before the Super Tuesday primary in Virginia. In the same statement, Tim also praised Biden for working in tandem with Obama on various issues like health care, economy, climate change, foreign policy for the betterment of the Americans. Tim also lauded both Biden and Obama for their appointment of judicial and executive nominees.
This endorsement from Kaine is termed as the first presidential endorsement from a senator from the past several months. Other senators who supported Biden include Doug Jones, Chris Coons, Bob Casey, Dianne Feinstein, and Tom Carper. Other senators have opted to stay clear about the endorsement, terming it as too early to make a decision.
