President Donald Trump once again blamed China for the coronavirus outbreak, terming it as the worse attack on the United States of America than the Pearl Harbor and 9/11 attacks. As he is at the receiving end of an unprecedented criticism for not being able to control the spread of the virus, Trump is back at accusing China as the major cause for the virus even though the first case in America was reported way back in January. With the death toll increasing rapidly with each passing day, Trump and his administration look more worried as they plan to open up the market, which is already in shambles.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said - “The virus should never have happened. It could have been stopped at the source, in Wuhan China. This is really the worst attack Americans have ever witnessed. Even worse than Pearl Harbor and the World Trade Center attack on 9/11.” An assault by Japan on the Pearl Harbor naval base in Hawaii invited the United States into World War II, which led to high casualties in 1941. The World Trade Center terrorist attacks killed about 3000 people in 2001 and considered as the deadliest terror attacks to ever happen in the United States of America. Due to the negligence of Trump’s administration, coronavirus pandemic has costed 25x lives of Americans compared to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. America’s death tally stands at a staggering 75,839, highest in any country, and is increasing rapidly to reach a hundred thousand mark.
In a congressional hearing, America’s public health physician, Thomas Frieden, said - “Till the time we have an effective vaccine, or unless something unexpected happens, the coronavirus enemy will be with us for many months or years to come.” The impact of the virus has been very severe on the less favored sections of America like the undocumented migrants. Most of the undocumented migrants are fearing of their deportation.
