US Intelligence Probes If Russia Is Interfering in 2020 Elections!!

There have been multiple rumors in 2016 about the probable involvement of Russia in helping Donald Trump win the elections. Four years down the lane, US intelligence and law enforcement officials are evaluating if Russia has its hand in targeting Joe Biden in his 2020 US elections campaign, as per two officials who were familiar with the issue. Former Vice President Joe Biden is still the front-runner to fight the battle with President Donald Trump; this might be the reason to target him in the upcoming elections.

The inquiry is primarily to find out whether Russia is trying to weaken Biden’s campaign over his past involvements in US policies like Ukraine deal, which also involved his son Hunter Biden. In 2016, it was believed that Russia implemented a greatly drafted operation to tarnish Democrat Hillary Clinton’s campaign, which ultimately helped Trump. William Evanina, director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center, said in a statement - “One of the important traits of Russian President Vladimir Putin is his ability to convince people of complete falsehoods. In the US, social media and other such tools are used to provoke social divisions, promote conspiracy theories, and spread distrust in the democracy and elections. As we look forward to 2020, one thing I can guarantee is they will surely keep up their influence campaigns and utilize new dimensions of misinformation. ” However, he declined to comment on whether an investigation is taking place to probe Russia.
